March is Developmental Disability Awareness Month and we are proud to provide year-round opportunities to celebrate the achievements of people with disabilities. The Ada S. McKinley Urban Farm was created by and for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by turning an underutilized outdoor space into a thriving environment.
The Ada Farm has been a practical and healthy way for people with disabilities to achieve personal growth, learn new skills, develop healthy eating habits, and secure employment. Our program empowers individuals to achieve self-reliance and economic independence by creating a path to careers in farming. It is also an opportunity to be a part of a larger community effort to address food insecurity and expand access to affordable, nutritious food in urban areas.
