About The Gathering:  To celebrate its extraordinary 100 years of service milestone, Ada S. McKinley hosted “The Gathering:  Honoring the Legacy of Ada S. McKinley.”  This intimate and inspirational celebration honored Ada S. McKinley the founder and emulated the “gatherings” she hosted to bring together thought leaders in support of expanding human service resources when she founded the agency a century ago.  Cheryl Burton, news anchor and reporter with WLS-TV/ABC 7 Chicago, was the honoree of the evening and recipient of the Ada S. McKinley Centennial Award for her commitment to using her voice and influence to change lives and strengthen communities in Chicago. Cheryl was interviewed by television host and radio personality Jeanne Sparrow during a fireside chat at Taste 222 restaurant. The discussion included how the work of Ada S. McKinley Community Services has impacted Cheryl’s life and the Chicago community through programs like college and job readiness, head start, foster care, mental wellness, and more.
