We were proud participants in the 16th Annual Silas Purnell College Expo hosted by Chesterfield Community Council and were pleased to be a part of the How to Get Money for College panel.
The Silas Purnell legacy continues thanks to this annual College Expo, and our acclaimed College Preparation & Placement Program founded by Silas in 1966. For several decades, at our offices in the basement of the Dearborn Homes housing development project, Silas made sure students knew they had the moral support, advocates for their success, and the financial resources they needed to afford and attend college.
To date, our College Prep program has placed more than 75,000 youth in more than 400 colleges and universities throughout the United States. This includes assisting graduating seniors in securing billions of dollars in financial aid and scholarships, representing $11.6 million in 2022 alone.
