Head Start & Early Learning
Every child—and every parent—deserves a good start in life and a chance to thrive. Our Head Start & Early Learning program prioritizes caregiver involvement and support. Parents in our program have multiple opportunities to be involved in their child’s education, cultural experiences and other group activities.
Our services utilize an evidence-based curriculum that promotes child development in all domains: cognitive growth; gross and fine motor skills; physical growth; health; and social-emotional development. In addition, we connect children and families to health care providers, dentists, and additional wraparound services to ensure access to mental and physical health care and case management resources.
What we offer
Center-Based Services
Full-day preschool education, child care, nutritious meals, and enrichment activities are offered at 18 locations that
provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally stimulating environments. Ada S. McKinley owns and operates its own center, while partnering with carefully selected community-based preschool and child care centers.
Home-Based Services
Experienced and trained home visiting staff meet with parents and children in the family’s home weekly and
organize social activities monthly to bring the families together. These activities ensure the children experience healthy developmental growth, parents and children engage in activities and bonding, and that parents of young children are connected with the resources and support networks they need.
