Black History Month at our Aztlan location, serving people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, was celebrated by highlighting historical figures such as Ada S. McKinley, Rosa Parks, Langston Hughes, Jackie Robinson, Harriett Tubman, George Washington Carver, Ida B Wells, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Staff recited poems, famous quotes, and gave fun facts and descriptions of historical events. Staff and the people we serve at Aztlan also worked together in groups to honor black history by creating visuals.
