Our Special Olympics Men’s Basketball Team not only claimed the number one spot in the 2024 State Championship, they are the winners of the first consecutive back-to-back state title in basketball ever!
They faced their first opponent, the Evanston B Team, winning 40-29. The second game was a dog fight. They played the SRR-Lincoln Way Hawks for the 2nd year in a row in a championship game, maintaining a 7-point lead until they finally pulled away in the 4th quarter and won 48 – 33.
This is the 4th state title for Ada S. McKinley Panthers who represent Region D – Division 8 for Special Olympics of Illinois. We are extremely proud of this team!
