Ada S. McKinley Reaccredited by Council on Accreditation

October 16, 2003 -- Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. recently was reaccredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) for meeting the highest national standards in delivering superior services to communities it serves.  The reaccredidation is effective through June 30, 2007 and includes the following programs: counseling services, mental health services, case management services, crisis intervention services, emergency telephone response services, information and referral services, outreach services, foster and kinship care services, family foster care, respite care services, day treatment services, group services for social development and enrichment, child care services, and prevention and support services.

McKinley joins hundreds of other private and public human services organizations in COA’s Community of Excellence serving over 6,000,000 children and families in the United States.

COA is an international, independent, non profit accrediting body that was incorporated as a separate legal entity in August 1977, as an accrediting body of social and behavioral healthcare services. 

Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization serving individuals, families, and persons with disabilities who need help in developing their abilities in order to lead healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives.  Founded in 1919, its services include: head start, foster care and adoption services, schools for students with disabilities, college placement, family counseling and intervention services, residential services, job training and placement, and senior citizen day programs.  More than 12,000 persons receive services through 36 program sites annually.
